Health Canada Consultation Aug 25 – Oct 27

In preparation for regulations to be applied to Bill S-5, Health Canada has begun the consultation period for Proposals for the Regulation of Vaping Products.

This consultation period will run from August 25, 2017 through October 27, 2017.

The purpose of the consultation is for the Government to gather input from stakeholders,  consumers, the general public, health professionals, and public health organizations as it relates to the regulations that they are proposing. The items that this consultation discusses are:

  • new packaging and labelling requirements for vaping products
  • information reporting requirements for vaping products
  • authorizing statements of relative health risk of vaping products
  • advertising restrictions on vaping products

The specifics of the proposal are contained within this Document for consultation.

This is the document for which they are requesting consultation.

How does this Bill will move through the Government?

The deadline to submit your response is October 27, 2017 and we encourage everyone to review the Document for consultation and provide your input. The ECTA will be doing ours as will many others, including those that would see even tighter regulation. This IS your opportunity to be heard on these topics.

Silence is consent…

We will be doing an initial review of these documents and will post another article with our assessment within the next few days.
